An integration and architecture practice working on utility metering and the systems downstream of it.
What we do
We work on utility systems integration, with the deepest experience in metering: head-end systems, meter data management, and the interfaces connecting them to outage management, distribution management and billing.
Most of what goes wrong with utility data goes wrong between systems rather than inside them — in the assumptions each one makes about what the others will send, and in what happens when those assumptions do not hold. That is the work.
How we work
Assumptions are stated rather than left implicit. Where data is absent, that is reported as absence rather than filled in. Where something cannot be determined from what is available, we say so rather than infer it.
This is not a philosophical position. In metering it is the difference between a figure that can be defended and one that cannot.
